I trained as a voice coach at Central School of Speech and Drama with David Carey and continue to coach in the business sector and through my private practice alongside directing.
My learning deepened through an apprenticeship with the Royal Shakespeare Company alongside Cicely Berry and Lyn Darnley. I team led voice and movement sessions with Lucy Cullingford and toured with the company around the UK and to North Carolina, US.
I have worked for over 20 years as a voice practitioner at leading drama schools including LAMDA, Birmingham Conservatoire, Italia Conti, Rose Bruford and Arts Ed.
My specialisms are empathic persuasive speaking, active listening and memorable presenting. I can help you develop clarity, confidence and connection to your audiences both in the room and online.

“I spent most evenings before ‘Lear’ and ‘The Seagull’ working with George and I do not think my voice would have made it through the year without him. The exercises he did with me centred me, connected me to my breath and released me vocally each night, helping me to give the most truthful and powerful performance I could. And the work was fun! He is all about keeping your voice fit and true to you. I unreservedly recommend him.”

“I’ve done voice work with George for theatre and television, and he’d be my first choice in the future. His skill, patience and attention to detail make him a pleasure to work with, and I recommend him without reservation.”

“George came highly recommended to me when I worked with the RSC. He keeps everything clear and understandable. He helped me improve my posture, projection, support and my confidence as a theatre actor. After seeing George for a month or two I was cast in a Paines Plough production that led to 9 months’ employment. Money well spent I’d say!”
